30 trillion cells of individual intelligence combine to perform the processes we think nothing of. From breathing, seeing, hearing to feeling. All these wonders occur within the smallest space of our body.
Tiny messages exchanged between brain and body so we can experience the wonders of this world. And we need do nothing to ensure it all happens.
These seamless movements rely on a whole host of chemical reactions that occur so instantaneously, we aren’t even aware of them. Each moment is as conscious as our breath.
I am in awe of our body fantastic with pieces crafted like shapes of nature. Bones shaped like butterflies, ripples upon fingertips as centres of trees, veins that weave as rivers leading to oceans.
All the while, breath pouring in and out – a ceaseless wind.
So much life beneath the surface, so much activity for the simplicity of gazing upon the ocean, pretzeling into yoga and embracing the moment of now.
These bodies fantastic are the vehicles that carry us through all we experience. They are the vehicles of our existence and the way we communicate with the world; the way that we can be part of this world.
Our body allows us to exchange and communicate with the outer world. The simplest of gestures rely upon so much majesty. A desire to be moved becomes a thought which sends electrical processes to manoeuvre many muscles, ligaments and bones, so that we can move toward or away from an object.
All the while, our senses receive the space that surrounds us, processing a plethora of experiences, informing us of huge pieces of information. All five senses and proprioception triggered in every single moment.
We walk through life, often so wrapped up in distractions, that we forget the very magnificence of the simplest of moments. For what use would touch be, if our loved ones could not sense it? How could our imagination and hearts expand if our eyes were not to see the vast ocean, sky and land? All these invisible connections would be impossible if it were not for all the body wisdom and nature that exist.
Our bodies are most precious, and we should nourish them as best we can. Everything is information for our body – from the food and drinks we consume, to the thoughts we tell ourselves, the movement we practice, and the connections we choose with others. All these particles combine to create the multifaceted body. The intricacies of how we feel, what we see, and how we move through life, all depend on how we choose to “feed” our bodies.
Who and what we surround ourselves with matters most as these choices feed our energetic body, our consciousness and our beliefs. We are constantly choosing whether to dull the body fantastic, or to elevate our lived experience.
The body never lies. The trick is whether we can hear and understand its language.
These bodies allow us to witness all the beauty and majesty that exist in our simple surroundings. They express all we feel and communicate through words ad gestures that speak our stories and paint our emotions.
Our body fantastic, like many things, is easy to take for granted. But like everything, they are not infinite. Nothing lasts forever.
If we desire the fullest and richest experiences imaginable, to know with complete certainty what is meant for us, and to be true to ourselves, we need to honour the body and treat it as a temple.
In doing so, we ensure the deepest connection to our felt self, along with longevity and the assurance we can savour every single moment for the gift and the miracle it is.
